Do you like rolling up your sleeves and working independently?
Are you someone who likes to get things done, takes ownership and gets satisfaction from keeping a production process running smoothly? Then we may have a great opportunity for you!
For our production facility in the Netherlands, we are looking for someone who is comfortable taking the lead. Someone who doesn’t wait for a to-do list, but thinks ahead, sees what needs to be done and makes sure it happens.
You will prepare production runs, operate the production process and independently keep track of the bigger picture. On the days you work, you will largely be working on your own at the production site/warehouse. Your colleagues work from other locations and will therefore not be physically present.
We are not a mass-production operation. We manufacture specialist complementary animal feeds in smaller production runs.
What will you be doing?
As a Production Operator, you make sure our production processes run smoothly and safely. You keep an eye on the overall process, safeguard quality and step in whenever necessary.
Your responsibilities will include:
- preparing and planning production runs;
- operating and monitoring the production lines;
- monitoring the quality of both products and processes;
- identifying and resolving minor technical issues;
- maintaining a safe, clean and tidy working environment;
- anticipating what is needed to ensure upcoming production runs can be carried out successfully;
- contributing ideas on how we can make our production process smarter and more efficient.
At first, you will handle the administrative and organisational tasks surrounding production together with a colleague. This colleague will support you remotely, giving you the opportunity to focus first on getting to know our products, working methods and production processes.
A role that can grow with you
Once you have fully mastered the production process and are keen to take on more responsibility, your role can gradually expand.
This could include purchasing raw materials and packaging materials, communicating with suppliers, managing pricing and stock levels, and organising additional support for larger production runs.
Which responsibilities you ultimately take on is something we will develop together, based on what suits you, where your strengths lie and what you enjoy doing.
When we say independent, we really mean independent
We think it is important to be clear about this from the start. You will often be working independently at the production site. Your colleagues work from different locations, so they will not physically be there with you.
That also means there won’t constantly be someone beside you telling you what to do next. We expect you to organise your own work, think ahead, spot potential problems and take action when needed.
Who are you?
You are someone who:
✅ Is enthusiastic and motivated;
✅ Sees what needs to be done and doesn’t wait for someone else to hand out tasks;
✅ Works accurately and is punctual and reliable;
✅ Is flexible and enjoys contributing ideas;
✅ Has an interest in production, technology or process engineering;
✅ Has a positive attitude and knows how to get things done;
✅ Enjoys working independently and is comfortable spending much of the working day alone at the production site.
What do we offer?
- A varied role with plenty of independence and responsibility;
- A competitive salary and attractive secondary benefits;
- A three-day working week, with the possibility of increasing this to four days in the future;
- A friendly and informal working environment with committed colleagues;
- Plenty of trust and freedom to organise your own work;
- Opportunities to grow within the company;
- Room for personal development and the opportunity to learn new skills.

About us
Bluejais is an internationally active producer of complementary animal feeds. Our mission is clear: we believe that when animals are supported in the right way, farming becomes stronger, food becomes better and the future looks brighter. We call that Future Friendly Feeding.
We also deliberately take a different approach to the way we work. We are an entrepreneurial team working together from different locations. Everyone at Bluejais has their own area of responsibility and takes ownership of making sure it runs well.
So, while we may not all work from the same place every day, we are in close contact with each other on a daily basis. This allows us to move quickly, work independently and support one another whenever needed.
